I was so thrilled and humbled to be featured in one of my favorite online publications. StyleBlueprint is a local lifestyle publication that expands across many cities in the Southeast.  They cover home design, fashion, recipes, local shops and restaurants, and a favorite weekly series which showcases woman in the community – their “FACES of” series.  It’s the perfect publication for the everyday woman who likes to be “in the know.”

When their editor reached out to me, of course I was so delighted and humbled.  And then when they sent a photographer to photograph me, I got a little nervous 😉  There is a reason I love staying behind the lens during photo shoots!

I love chatting about how my photography has evolved over the years and how motherhood has influenced everything that I do now.  There were a number of routes I could have taken with my brand and business, but when Lyon joined our family, it was incredibly important that I shift my business around him and his needs, rather than the other way around.  It was fun and meaningful talking about that during our interview.

If you have a chance, take a peak at the feature here!

I photographed the sweetest new bundle a few weeks ago, and I love how it turned out. The lighting, the family, the baby….how it all came together perfectly.

Although I love the trendy newborn poses (when executed perfectly), I have to say I’m more drawn to the natural beauty of these…

It’s supposed to be a gloriously beautiful weekend! I can just feel and taste the Spring air.

I have such fun memories of St. Patrick’s Day growing up. For many of my friends, it was always a good excuse to drink green alcoholic beverages…which is super fun when you’re 25, but now that I’m in my 30s and waking up at the crack of dawn to the chirping coming out of my toddler’s bedroom, I’ve chosen to celebrate in other ways!

Here are some festive activities you can try with your family this weekend. Go out and make some green memories this St. Patrick’s Day!

1. Lucky Charms Rice Krispy Treats: These are the perfect treat to make with your kiddos!
2. DIY Green Saint Patty’s Confetti Poppers: What better way to celebrate than with confetti?
3. Celebrate at the Georgia Aquarium: On Saturday, March 15th, visit the Aquarium for Irish music and dancing, and a scavenger hunt!
4. Free Printable & DIY Shamrock Shoe Clips: How cute are these matching Shamrock shoe clips?
5. Atlanta Saint Patrick’s Day Parade: On Saturday, March 15th, bring the kids out to the parade!

There are far little things more special than telling your first born that he’s going to be a big brother soon.

We are absolutely elated to share the news that we are expecting a baby girl this July.  I always thought I’d be the mom of a whole team of soccer-playing boys.  At least 5 of them. Deep in my heart, however, I desperately craved braiding my little girl’s hair, buying pink, and naming her after an enchanted flower.  I’m such a girly girl.

When we found out the gender of this bambino growing inside me this week, I had this deep calming sensation that came over me.  I knew that this baby would complete our family…. This was it.  She was going to be our second and final baby.  And that was such a overwhelmingly huge burden off of my shoulders and such a blessed feeling.  It feels so right.

And so the next chapter in our lives begin…  This time, with whole new meaning as my little boy will have the new responsibility of taking care of his little sister.  Kyu’s already signed him up for 5-year-old boxing and wrestling lessons.  No joke.

We are crazy excited for all of the memories ahead!  ~xoxo

ToGather: verb – to bring together a group of motivated, thoughtful & successful business women to connect, share & inspire (over delightful eats & treats, of course).

My dear friends Chaffee, Kristin and I recently hosted a women’s social for a truly inspiring group of women. The idea of ToGather came about early last year from the three of us as we got together for our monthly dinners. Chaffee, Kristin and I share a common bond in that we are each small business owners, mothers, wives and enthusiastically ambitious in our own different ways. We got so much out of our dinners that Kyu began to jokingly call our outings the “Female World Domination Dinners…” In a strange sort of way, we kind of took pride in that new nickname from Kyu.

Over the year, we began brainstorming ways in which these get-togethers could have a further reach and help build a framework for something bigger than us. We talked about the women in our lives that inspired us, and who often struggled with the same work/life balance that we do. Many were entrepreneurs, some were corporate executives, some where philanthropists, but all equally motivated, thoughtful women that we truly admired.

And so we went to work to put together our very first event last Thursday and appropriately called it ToGather.

Everything came together beautifully. I went a little carried away (as I always do) with the invitations that went out to each woman we asked to attend. Custom letter-pressed pieces with hand-painted gold edging, sealed with a stunning gold tree.  All was wrapped up beautifully in an elegant box with gold polka dot siding, and then tied together with a single gold ribbon to finish. I love the way they turned out.

The details of the event itself were equally as beautiful… A special thank you to The Fresh Market who provided all of the wonderful food that night.

We spent the evening talking about how special this inaugural event was to us, while celebrating each of the women who attended.

In the end, Chaffee, Kristin and I left more inspired from the women who were present and more invigorated about planning our next gatherings. We can’t wait until the next one!
