Aaron just turned a year old, and it’s been such a fun journey for me watching him grow to be the happy, leaf-loving child that he is! We are wrapping up the design for his One Year Album, and I just wanted to share some highlights & milestones from his first year.

We’re so eager to get this printed album into his hands soon. What a keepsake this will be for him and his family!

This is one of my favorite times of the year.  The winter season is usually a slow one for client sessions, so I love that I’m able to devote a little more time on personal projects that are truly meaningful to me and my son’s school.

My team and I just wrapped up a very special class project for Lyon’s preschool class.  A couple of wonderful parent volunteers and I met last month to photograph these adorable 2 year olds in front of a black roll of seamless paper.  What resulted was one of the funnest and coolest books I’ve had the privilege of putting together.

This has truly been a labor of love for all of us involved.  We spent nearly 75 hours perfecting every page of this book:

  • photography by myself, props and styling by Chaffee & Emily
  • initial retouching and editing done by me
  • in depth retouching, color correcting, overlay of chalk background, text and copy design by our Production Manager Erin. Every page had several, upon several layers of photoshop work done – ensuring the color and and tone was consistent throughout.
  • hand-illustrated cover flap design by our talented designer Kristen.  I just love how that turned out!
  • 2nd day of photography and styling by Chaffee and I to ensure every child was equally documented in the book.

I find so much joy in collaborating on projects like this.  This book will be sold on auction night to the preschool parents, and 100% of the proceeds will go back to their classroom.  All while each of the children find delight in flipping through the pages and reading their ABC’s and seeing all of their friend’s faces.

That warms my heart so much…

Atlanta News, Weather, Traffic, and Sports | FOX 5

Last week, I was invited to be a guest on Fox 5’s Good Day Atlanta and chat with viewers on simple ways to personalize their space for the Holidays.

Now. I fully admit I am no Martha Stewart… And you can walk into my home today, and I promise you will not find my home immaculately decorated to the brim with festive DIY creations.  But what I do love is finding simple and *easy* ways for busy moms to create custom pieces that bring a lot of that heart to their space.

The segment went rather quickly, so I included some images below to show some of the individual pieces.

I love the way the Christmas Card Display turned out.  Pieced together by hand the night before by my darling husband and I, with whimsical chalk renderings by the talented Erin McManness.

Every once in a while, I’ll get asked to photograph corporate headshots.  Because I primarily photograph babies and sweet families, I generally graciously turn down these jobs.  But every once in a while, a project or company that I really believe in and am excited about approaches me – and I throw my rule book out the window.  This is one of those cases.

Kristin, who is the founder and President of BravePR, and I have worked together on several occasions for her children’s photographs.  She also helps us with many of our communication needs for NAPCP.  I was naturally ecstatic to work with her team to capture them.

Aren’t they all so gorgeous?

Every year, we invite all our clients and past clients to spend time with us at a park. We schedule back-to-back mini-sessions designed to capture beautiful individual and family portraits against the glittering Fall leaves. Alice will then apply her signature toning and black & white techniques on her favorite 10-15 images and burn each of them on CD (printable up to 5×7) for families to make as Christmas cards, gift portraits, and to archive for their own personal use. Signup is NOW available!
